每年的农历八月十五是中秋节，在这一天，人们放下手里的工作，回家齐聚，合家团圆，和家人一起度过美好的一天。
The Mid-Autumn Festival falls on the 15th day of the eighth lunar month. It usually falls between September and October. This year, it falls on 21 September.On this day,people will put down their work, go back home and spent a good day with their families.For most Chinese,mooncake festival is a time for families to get together.

中秋节起源于约3000年前周朝（公元前1046-256年）的拜月仪式。”中秋”二字最早见于汉代成书（公元前202年-公元220年）的《周礼》。历代的中秋节，人们都在月光下载歌载舞，赏月、祭月、拜月。
Mid-Autumn Festival is originated from the moon worship ceremony about 3,000 years ago in Zhou Dynasty (1046 – 256 BC). The earliest record of Chinese character “Mid-Autumn” is in the Rites of Zhou compiled in the Han Dynasty (202 BC – 220 AD). In the successive dynasties, there had been customs such as singing and dancing under the moonlight, and worshipping the moon.

Chang’e’s flight to the moon
When we look at the moon,it seems like someone lives on the moon, there is also a small rabbit.
It’s chang’e’.The moon goddess and her rabbit.
There is a story between chang’e’ and the origin of the mooncakes.
long long time ago,ten suns appeared in the sky.They look like 10 fireballs which scorched the entire earth.
There was a sharpshooter named Hou Yi who attempted to help people to shoot down the excess suns.Hou Yi shoot down nine suns at one time and left the last one.Hou Yi commanded that the sun should rise and fall on time each day to benefit the people. Because of his contribution in shooting down the suns and saving the world. The Queen Wang MU gave Hou Yi a magic pill.Which could make him a god and become immortal.Hou Yi was reluctant to leave his wife Change-e alone and become immortal.So,he gave the elixir to her and asked her to keep it.This scene was seen by a minded man whose name was Pang Meng.After Hou Yi became famous,many people came to learn the archery from him.Pang Meng was one of them.One day,Hou Yi went out for hunting with his disciples leaving chang’e’ at home alone.Pang Meng pretended to be ill and did not go with them.After Hou Yi left,Pang Meng broke into Hou Yi’s house with sword and forced chang’e’ to give him the pill.Chang’e’ worried that Pang Meng will bring disasters to human being after he got magic,so she swallowed the pill. After swallowing the pill,chang’e’ felt that her body became very light immediately and she flew to the heaven. Chang’e’ worried about Hou Yi,so she only flew to the moon which was nearest to the earth and became the moon goddess.
Chang’e’ was accompanied by a jade rabbit in the moon every day. She missed her husband very much.So did her husband Hou Yi.He also wanted to meet chang’e’ again.A god taught Hou Yi a mathod using flour to make a cake,which looked like the full moon in August 15th and placing it on the northwest of the house.Then calling chang-e’s name continuous, then chang-e would come back and reunite with him.Hou Yi made many mooncakes according to the god’s method on August 15th and chang-e really came back home from the moon.Later on,people called this round flour-made cake ‘mooncke’ and passed it on from generation to generation.
