Happy labor day! Hoorayyyy!!

with regarding to labor Day what i think about is having a five days rest that I can go out for traveling or go back home staying with family’s and enjoy ourselves. but I also realize that there will be much tourists at all scenic spots with people mountain people sea and the experience will become terrible.so I wonder why and when does this kind of phenomenal happens关于劳动节,我想的是有一个5天的休息,我可以出去旅游或回家和家人呆在一起,享受自己。

When it comes to Labor Day, the first thing which hit me is the 5-day vacation when I can go out for travel or go back home to stay with family and enjoy ourselves. but I also noticed that there will be many tourists at scenic spots, giving rise to “people mountain people sea” and the experience will become terrible.so I wonder why and when will this it occur.

According to the research about the origin of Labour Day, it was designed to be an annual national tribute in honor of the contributions workers have made to for strengths, prosperity, and well-being of the country.
That reminds me of the 8-Hour Work Day, which is so familiar to each of us but actually was obtained through generations of workers’s hard work. So, now as we enjoy the holiday these days, please don’t forget those great people before us, who have fought for the rights of every worker and paved the way for the improvement of the working environment.

In the late 1800s, at the height peak of the Industrial Revolution in the United States, the average American in average worked for 12-hours a day and seven days a week in order to eke out a basic living. Despite restrictions in some states, children as young as 5 or 6 toiled in mills, factories and mines across the country, earning a fraction of their adult counterparts’ wages.
People of all ages, particularly the very poor and recent immigrants, often faced extremely unsafe working conditions, with insufficient access to fresh air, sanitary facilities and breaks.
As manufacturing increasingly supplanted agriculture as the wellspring of American employment, labor unions, which had first appeared in the late 18th century, grew more prominent and vocal. They began organizing strikes and rallies to protest poor conditions and compel employers to renegotiate hours and pay.

R 4《Labor Day》 劳动节 A Novel
With the end of summer closing in and a steamy Labor Day weekend looming in the town of Holton Mills, New Hampshire, thirteen-year-old Henry—lonely, friendless, not too good at sports—spends most of his time watching television, reading, and daydreaming about the soft skin and budding bodies of his female classmates. For company Henry has his long-divorced mother, Adele—a onetime dancer whose summer project was to teach him how to foxtrot; his hamster, Joe; and awkward Saturday-night outings to Friendly’s with his estranged father and new stepfamily. As much as he tries, Henry knows that even with his jokes and his “Husband for a Day” coupon, he still can’t make his emotionally fragile mother happy. Adele has a secret that makes it hard for her to leave their house, and seems to possess an irreparably broken heart.
But all that changes on the Thursday before Labor Day, when a mysterious bleeding man named Frank approaches Henry and asks for a hand. Over the next five days, Henry will learn some of life’s most valuable lessons: how to throw a baseball, the secret to perfect piecrust, the breathless pain of jealousy, the power of betrayal, and the importance of putting others—especially those we love—above ourselves. And the knowledge that real love is worth waiting for.
R 5《Triangle》三角形
A fictionalized story based on the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory fire that is still considered one of deadliest disasters in U.S. history. The owners locked the doors to the stairwells and the exits to prevent theft and unauthorized breaks, so many workers could not had to jump out of the windows to escape. This incident led to laws to improved safety standards for factory workers and helped grow the International Ladies’ Garment Workers’ Union.
